Team Manager – Children In Care – Kent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager to lead the Children in Care Team at a well-regarded local authority in Kent. With an OFSTED rating of GOOD, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to oversee the work of qualified social workers, ensuring high-quality service delivery to vulnerable children and young people in care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership and management to the Children in Care Team, ensuring all statutory duties are met.
  • Oversee the case management of children and young people in care, ensuring care plans are effective, achievable, and meet the needs of the children.
  • Support and develop team members through regular supervision, performance management, and professional development.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Work closely with multi-agency professionals, foster carers, and families to achieve positive outcomes for children in care.
  • Ensure the team maintains excellent standards of safeguarding practice and participates in OFSTED inspections as required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration (must be fully qualified).
  • Previous experience in Children’s Services with a focus on Children in Care.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing or supervising a team of social workers.
  • In-depth knowledge of child protection legislation, Looked After Children (LAC) procedures, and permanency planning.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
