Social Worker – Placement Team
Pay Rate: £38.50 per hour

 

About the Role:
Tower Hamlets is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join its Placement Team.

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting Ofsted regulation and ensuring high standards of care, support, and safety in children’s homes.

About You:

The successful candidate will take a proactive approach in ensuring that children’s homes meet Ofsted’s minimum quality standards. This includes overseeing regulatory compliance, monitoring performance, and ensuring the safety and well-being of children in care. The post holder will also support the children’s placement team to identify appropriate homes for children and ensure placement stability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support management in ensuring compliance with standards and regulations for homes/providers. Conduct inspections, audits, and track Ofsted outcomes. Visit homes to assess care quality and service standards.
  • Maintain a quality assurance system to monitor homes, ensuring they meet required welfare standards. Ensure compliance documents are up to date and stored securely.
  • Ensure homes adhere to health and safety regulations. Conduct risk assessments and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Oversee the quality of support services, ensuring they meet individual needs and promote the well-being of children and young people.
  • Evaluate financial packages offered by homes/providers and collaborate with teams to review financial plans.
  • Support placement stability and develop stable, supportive environments for children, minimizing disruptions and ensuring continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure a holistic approach to care and enhance service delivery.
  • Promote continuous improvement among providers, stay updated on regulations, and lead the development of a framework for regulating children’s homes.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Social Work England registered and qualified.
  • Proven experience in social work, particularly in compliance and quality assurance within regulated services.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and child protection frameworks.
  • Ability to monitor, evaluate, and improve service delivery in children's homes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational and report-writing abilities.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
