Social Worker - Children With Dissabilties

Newham is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities (CWD) team. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a caseload of children and young people with disabilities

• Conducting assessments and developing care plans tailored to each child’s needs

• Working closely with families, carers, and multi-agency teams to provide holistic support

• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989

• Carrying out statutory visits and reviewing care packages regularly

• Attending panel meetings and contributing to decision-making processes

• Advocating for children’s needs in education, health, and social care settings

Requirements:

• Social Work England registration

• Previous experience in a Children with Disabilities or similar team

• Knowledge of direct payments, EHCP processes, and disability-related legislation

• Strong advocacy skills and a commitment to improving outcomes for children

• Experience in completing complex assessments and multi-agency planning

• Understanding of safeguarding procedures and risk management strategies

• Excellent organisational and time management skills
