Social Worker – Initial Response Team – Hybrid – Shropshire – £30.57 per hour
 

Sheldon Phillips are working with a Local Authority in Shropshire to find a Social Worker to join their Initial Response Team. This is a hybrid role, offering a competitive rate of £30.57 per hour (umbrella).

Role Details:

• Position: Social Worker – Initial Response Team
• Location: Shropshire (Hybrid working available)
• Rate: £30.57 per hour (umbrella)
• Contract: Ongoing

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of children and families requiring assessment and short-term intervention.
• Undertake Section 17 and Section 47 assessments, working to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
• Work in partnership with families and multi-agency professionals to develop and implement effective support plans.
• Make informed decisions based on comprehensive assessments and analysis of risk.
• Contribute to strategy discussions, initial child protection conferences, and court proceedings where necessary.

About You:

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Experience working within a Frontline or Assessment Team.
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and statutory guidance.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage a varied caseload.
