Gloucestershire County Council is seeking an experienced Agency Fostering Social Worker to join our Fostering Support Team. This exciting role will involve supporting and supervising foster carers to ensure they provide the best quality care to meet the needs of vulnerable children, as outlined in their care plans. Safeguarding is our priority, and we ensure that all households comply with the National Minimum Standards for fostering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and supervise fostering households to ensure high standards of care
• Conduct annual reviews and manage a caseload of children in care
• Identify suitable placements for children and ensure care plans are followed
• Run support groups and assist with foster carer training
• Ensure households comply with National Minimum Standards for fostering
• Work as part of a busy, welcoming team focused on safeguarding and providing the best care for children

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified Social Worker: Degree and registration with Social Work England
• Social Worker with experience in fostering services
• Strong experience in supporting and supervising foster carers
• Ability to fit into a busy but supportive team environment
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to the safeguarding and development of vulnerable children
