Designated Social Care Officer (DSCO) – Fixed Term Contract
Salary: £44,070.00 - £52,327.00 + £2,000 Golden Hello + £2,000 Annual Retention Allowance + Lease Car

Bromley is thriving as one of London’s leading local authorities, and we’re seeking an experienced Designated Social Care Officer (DSCO) to join our dynamic social care team. This fixed-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to support vulnerable individuals and make a lasting impact in the heart of the borough.

About the Role:
As a DSCO, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering high-quality social care in Bromley. You’ll work closely with families, children, and adults to assess needs, manage risks, and ensure safeguarding. You’ll be expected to navigate Bromley’s legislative framework, ensuring that local policies and practices are followed to provide the best outcomes for the people we support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals’ needs, ensuring compliance with Bromley’s safeguarding protocols and local legislation.
  • Develop, implement, and review person-centred care plans in collaboration with service users and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Lead and contribute to safeguarding investigations, ensuring high standards of practice in line with Bromley’s safeguarding procedures.
  • Provide expert advice and support to colleagues and external agencies on social care best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with Bromley’s local policies and statutory requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Social Worker (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent) with HCPC registration.
  • Significant experience in social care, including child protection and/or adult safeguarding.
  • In-depth knowledge of Bromley’s safeguarding policies, local legislation, and statutory frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solution-focused approach.
  • A passion for improving lives and making a real difference within Bromley’s vibrant community.
