Child Protection Chair – Hybrid – Hammersmith and Fulham – £40 per hour
 

Sheldon Phillips are working with a Local Authority in Hammersmith and Fulham to find an experienced Child Protection Chair for a hybrid role. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled practitioner to contribute to safeguarding children and ensuring best outcomes within a well-supported and high-performing team.

Role Details:

  • Position: Child Protection Chair
  • Location: Hammersmith and Fulham (Hybrid working available)
  • Rate: £40 per hour (umbrella)
  • Contract: Ongoing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chair Child Protection Conferences in line with statutory guidance and local procedures.
  • Ensure that all safeguarding concerns are robustly considered and addressed within multi-agency meetings.
  • Work closely with social workers, managers, and partner agencies to ensure that Child Protection Plans are effective and outcomes-focused.
  • Provide quality assurance and challenge where appropriate to ensure children receive the right services at the right time.
  • Monitor and review progress on Child Protection Plans to ensure that risk is managed and reduced.

About You:

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience in child protection and safeguarding.
  • Previous experience chairing Child Protection Conferences is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice in safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
